Birchbox Review May 2013 – Beauty Subscription Box!

Aloha readers! 🙂 I got my Birchbox a bit late this month, so forgive this end-of-the-month posting. Supposedly there were about 41 variations of boxes this month! How does everyone know this? Is there a link? I’d appreciate if someone could let me know in the comments 🙂

Box: Birchbox gives you beauty and lifestyle products each month.

Price: $10/month.

Contents: 4-5 samples each month, from mini to deluxe, & sometimes full-size!

This month’s theme was ‘Beauty Diaries’, and it included this survey type of thing. I’m still not so sure what I’m supposed to do with it…

First look! Btw, since the samples are so tiny and some are unlabeled, I won’t be doing approx. values.

As always the lovely information card, along with a sample of Folle De Joie Eau De Parfum, which had a fresh scent. I think perfume samples are so ehh…they are just so tiny! Plus the full-size of this sucker is $98 o.O

Beauty Protector ‘Protect and Detangle’:
This is a decent size and my tangles could use some detangler. I’ve seen some great reviews on this stuff, so I’m excited to try it. Great for traveling too!

Soleil Organique Environmental Defense Sun Stick SPF 30:
I know a lot of people were not happy about getting sunscreen in their box this month, but I was thrilled! This is so perfect for summer travels, or just the hot summer sun in general. This will definitely get put to use.

Weleda Citrus Hydrating Body Lotion (3 Packets):
I like that 3 packets were included since these are very small 🙂

Supergoop! CC Cream 35 SPF:

This is my favorite item in the box! I’m super into trying BB & CC creams. This is a dark brown color, but it’s self adjusting. I think I can get 2 uses out of this.

Final Thoughts: Although the samples are tiny, one must remember that Birchbox is only $10 a month! (Although it’s hard not to compare this to Ipsy lol). I was decently happy with what I got since I can always use sunscreen, and will see what next month has in store. (Hopefully it’s a bit better though!)
