Ipsy Bag Review – May 2013

Presenting the May 2013 Ipsy bag! YAY! I was super excited for this one, and how cute is this summer chevron print? 🙂
Box: Ipsy is a montly subscription service for beauty products.
Price: $10/month.
Contents: 4-5 beauty products personalized to your profile, determined by a beauty/style quiz. Not everyone gets the same products!

Coupons from all the brands this month.

On the back of this card is a coupon for $110 off a hot tool at Nume! They don’t ship to Hawaii though, so comment below if you want my code 🙂

Mirabella Shimmerati Glimmer Gloss (Value $16?):
I feel like this is full-size, but I’m not quite sure. I did some research and think this product is from the 2010 Holiday collection? Don’t know, I can’t find much on it. Anyways, it’s a glitter-packed ruby red gloss in sleek packaging. I didn’t see anyone else with this yet & was hoping to get either the lipstick or the Juice Beauty gloss 🙁 But it’s okay, I’m still so impressed with Ipsy! See the odd shape & swatch of the gloss below.

Pacifica ‘Island Vanilla’ Rollerball Perfume (Value $12):
FULL-SIZE! I was excited that there was a rollerball in here, but unfortunately it’s not my type of scent. It’s has a strong, warm, vanilla scent. I’m not a huge vanilla person, but it does smell nice and you will probably love this if you love vanilla!

The odd tube-ish applicator makes it a bit hard to put on around the cupids bow, but I like the futuristic look.

Swatch! It looks super opaque, but once on lips it gets a big more clear. It’s does have some opacity though. It is a thicker gloss and glitter lips aren’t really my style, but it’s not horrible.
Pacifica Bronzing Body Butter ‘Coconut Crushed Pearl’ (Value $6):
This gives a nice shimmer. Excited to use this for those hot summer beach days! My poor legs are always ashy lol.
Zoya ‘Jacqueline’ (Value $8):
FULL-SIZE! My favorite product in the bag! I’m so overjoyed that they included a Zoya polish. I only own 1 other Zoya polish besides this one, and I don’t have a color like this. So fricken excited. Swatch below!

Yaba Concealer ‘Honey’:
I like this! The yellow tones did a great job at covering my dark circles. It’s a thicker concealer, but easy to blend.

Excuse my cuticles! I was in a rush so I painted ‘Jacqueline’ over my Julep ‘Gabrielle. It’s such a great color! This is 3 coats (over my dark polish), but it’s totally opaque in 2, and practically opaque with just 1. Such a creamy buttercup beige color that you don’t see too often.
Final Thoughts: I absolutely am thrilled with this bag. Ipsy simply outdid themselves with the multiple full-sizes, and there was a great variety of beauty products. There’s also that great Nume coupon! I wasn’t a huge fan of Ipsy in the past (back when they were MyGlam), but I am definitely impressed and going to stay subscribed! This month’s contents were valued well over $40+! How could anyone pass up this at $10? 😉
What did you get in your Ipsy bag? I know not everyone got the same items and I would love to know what’s in yours!
