Cloud 9 Sample Box Review – September 2013

Cloud 9 Sample Box, a new subscription box to me, asked if I wanted to review their September box, and I of course said yes! I saw in previous boxes that they sent out delicious looking snacks and beauty products, so I was very excited to try.
Box: Cloud 9 is a lifestyle box that lets you discover new products (such as snacks and cosmetics) every month.
Price: $15/month + $5.95 s/h.
Contents: Chocolate, beauty products, and unique treats!

First look inside the box! I love the packaging, it has a nice handmade touch, very ‘homey’!
The front of the information card. I like how detailed it is and has information on where you can find the retailers. Unfortunately I had oil spots all over the card/box, you’ll see why below!

 Back of information card.
Taza Chocolate ‘Salted Almond’ Disc (Value $5):
The culprit of the oil spots! I was very sad too see that the item I was most excited for had completely melted during transport. Unfortunately, it also didn’t harden once it cooled. I was still considering a taste but saw little ‘spots’ on the package and was thinking it was spores from the moisture, so I had to toss it 🙁 Luckily it didn’t get chocolate everywhere!
Gringo Jacks Tortilla Chips (Value $1.30):
These were very good at first (extremely flaky!), but I found I couldn’t (and shouldn’t) eat a lot of them. They were very rich and buttery tasting, aka a lot of fat!

GoGo Squeez ‘Apple Strawberry’ Apple Sauce (Value $1.25):
I love these, they taste so good and are a good snack!

Isagenix T+ Chai Liquid (Value $1):
I don’t really know how I feel about this…cool product in itself, but it’s from a ‘multi-level’ type of company, so in order to get it for a cheaper price, you would have to become a member and stuff. Plus, you buy it from ‘representatives’, not just a general website.
Embellish Mineral Cosmetics Lipgloss ‘Naked Truth (Value?):
This was the extra in this months box, a close up is below.

Isagenix Rejuvity Samples (Value?):
This is a cool sample, but the system itself is very expensive, about $150 with the membership.
Close up of the gloss.
Final Thoughts: I had mixed feelings about this box. I thought the food products were a great selection, (chocolate, fruit, chips), but the lifestyle products were a bit off for me, as it was a bit expensive and you can’t really buy from one general website. I liked the lipgloss ‘extra’ as it’s great to discover new, smaller companies. Also the value seemed a little low. The box is $15 without s/h. I could calculate about $9 (not including the lipgloss and skincare), but feel that those values shouldn’t make up the rest of the box, as they are just samples. It wasn’t the best box, but it wasn’t horrible and they had some great past boxes!
