Ipsy Bag Review February 2014 – Makeup Subscription

Ahhh, the awaited and ever so popular Ipsy bag! This month’s bag to me was just ok, inside and out. The bag looks okay; not anything special, yet color-matching the month of love. I’ll delve into the products below!
Box: Ipsy is a monthly subscription service for beauty products.
Price: $10/month.
Contents: 4-5 beauty products personalized to your profile, determined by a beauty/style quiz. Not everyone gets the same products!
(Bonus Referral Item) Benefit High Beam (Value $26):
I got this FULL-SIZE Benefit product for redeeming 1000 Ipsy points that you get from providing product feedback and member referrals (thanks guys!). I can’t believe they gave a full-size; usually the point gifts are deluxe samples. Amazing surprise!
Zoya Nail Polish ‘Dot‘ (Value $8):
I love Zoya bottles, think this is a beautiful color, and I’ll always be happy with nail polish 🙂 (Even though I have way too much and really don’t have any more room [or fingers] for more!)
City Color Be Matte Blush ‘Fresh Melon’ (Value $2.99):
Although it looks extremely bright, if you don’t apply to harshly this will blend out well. The formula is ok and honestly the blush isn’t anything special, but I love how the packaging looks!
Pop Beauty Plump Pout Mini ‘Peony Petal’ (Value $9):
Pop Beauty is a pretty pricey UK brand, but they have really nice quality products! The color is showing up a little more bright and pink than it should; it’s closer to a mauve color. Hopefully it’s not too glossy and more of a pigmented/texturized lip product.

Ipkin New York Moist & Firm BB ’02 Light’ (Value $2?):
I can’t find any size information about this for some reason, so I’m just guessing with the value. Y’all know I love BB creams and I can NEVER have enough, but I haven’t heard of this brand and based on other reviews, I heard the color payoff on this is super orange!
‘Tini Beauty Eyetini Cordial Shadow + Base ‘Ambrosia’ (Value $18):
Pricey, but it’s a full-size eyeshadow base and shadow in one! This is supposed to be crease and fading resistant, something I think is VERY important when using eye products!
Final Thoughts: I had mixed feelings about this month’s bag, which is odd as it’s been a hit with me for a long while. (Of course I must accept not every bag is going to be my favorite.) Although the value was near $40 without the bonus item, I think 3 out of the 5 products were really unheard of for me, and they weren’t exactly the greatest things. Even though I do like trying out new products, I love when I get items from reputable brands. None the less the bag was an amazing deal and a fun discovery, as always!
