Project DIY Review February 2014 – Cold As Ice Collection

I recently received this month’s Project DIY box, which was themed as the Cold As Ice Collection. Let me just say, I was so excited once I saw the jewelry I would get to create with this; it was absolutely gorgeous! Cold as Ice contains a bunch of crystals and sparkling medals, inspired to capture the iridescent colors and frosted textures of winter.
Box: Project DIY is a curated box of accessories that you have the liberty of creating yourself!
Price: $30/month.
Contents: Various instructions, materials, and inspiration to create your own pieces. (Right now you can get a free starter kit if you subscribe, a $20 value!).

Such a beautiful first look.

The two collections included in the box, along with an information card.

These products are from the On the Rocks bracelet duo project, along with the glue to be used for both projects.
These are from the Crystal Clear Statement necklace. With a big base plate and a bunch of jewels, any pattern of crystals can be arranged on this.
Final Thoughts: I think these jewelry pieces, when completed, are going to be so completely beautiful! The examples pictures look so nice, and I love all the colors of the ‘crystals’. In terms of crafting the projects together, it’s fun if you like to DIY, but the simplicity of it is pretty basic. (In this case, it’s just glueing!) The simplicity isn’t necessarily bad though, as I stray away from DIY projects that are too complicated. All in all, I LOVE these pieces and think it was a fantastic theme!
