For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been fascinated with Ireland. The lush green hills, fortified castles…It’s definitely number 1 on my list of places to travel too. So, you could imagine my excitement when I found out it would be March’s destination for the Escape Monthly box. (And rightfully so, with St. Patrick’s Day and all!) I got this box at a sweet discount on Plum District, so I couldn’t pass it up.
Box: Escape Monthly is a destination-inspired monthly delivery of luxury products to help you escape.
Cost: $49.95/month with free s/h. ($39.95 with coupon code YOURESCAPE)
Contents: Average value of over $100 worth of artisan goods from that month’s destination.
First look. Isn’t it beautiful?!
Here is the information that was inside the brochure. Awesome that they listed the prices!
Moon Travels ‘Living Abroad in Ireland’ (Value $19.99):
I believe the majority of ‘travel’ boxes include some type of travel guide inside. I like and dislike this…like because it tells me all about the place, dislike because it will be a LONG while before I ever use it! 🙁
Hogan’s Brown Irish Soda Bread Mix (Value $8.99):
Not sure how this will taste, but once I get an oven, I’ll give it a go! (We are supposed to be renovating our kitchen…)
O’neils All Butter Shamrock Shortbread (Value $2.79):
These are probably going to just melt in my mouth…and make me gain 10 lbs….but it would be worth it…right.
Butler’s Milk Chocolate Truffle (Value $3.99):
Divine chocolate from one of Ireland’s most famous chocolatiers.
Auld Sod Official Irish Shamrock Seeds (Value: Bonus Item):
This has got to be one of the funnest items I’ve ever received in a subscription box, ever! I like how these seeds are actually FROM Ireland, so you really are getting a piece of the country in the box 🙂 I want a magical 4 leaf clover!
Final Thoughts: I loved this box, so, so much! It was my first time experiencing this subscription, and I wasn’t at all disappointed. I like how the items were from well-known establishments in Ireland, and everything seemed very authentic, not gimmicky like getting a bunch of leprechaun-related items. The majority of the items were food, but what better way to explore a culture than through their cuisine right? The value of this box was $75, which was a nice overage from the cost, but not hitting the $100 ‘average’ value. Other than that, loved the box!
