Ipsy Bag Review April 2014 – Makeup Subscription

The theme for April’s Ipsy Bag was ‘Beauty Rocks’….cute-ish…I guess. I didn’t like the bag though, this was a totally a toss in the trash for me. Another problem this month is that I didn’t get my TokyoMilk Dark Salted Caramel Elixir, which I redeemed with my points. I emailed them about the issue, hopefully they respond promptly!
Box: Ipsy is a monthly subscription service for beauty products.
Price: $10/month.
Contents: 4-5 beauty products personalized to your profile, determined by a beauty/style quiz. Not everyone gets the same products!

Demeter ‘Jasmine’ Roll On Perfume Oil (Value $10):
I like this brand of roll-on perfume. I received on in the scent ‘Dragonfruit’ a long time ago and loved it! This scent is also very nice and reminds me of gardenia 🙂
Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Exfoliant (Value $10?):
Dr. Brandt is expensive (and good!), so I’m always happy to get one of his products when I can. I need a good exfoliant too!
Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm ‘Apple Pink’ (Value $19):
A very high value item, which is always nice! I can’t decide if I want to keep this or not, so I haven’t swatched it yet. It’s a very odd shape, but the long handle contains a secret lip brush!

Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Pencil ‘Black Velvet’ (Value $15):
I love Urban Decay pencils and always take on extra eyeliner, so I was happy to get this. (Never mind I literally have about 30 eyeliners…) I compared this new ‘velvet’ formula to the old formula and honestly couldn’t tell a difference though.
Pop! Goes the Shadow ‘Champagne’ (Value $12.99):
Supposedly this is full-size, but man this is tiny! And expensive…and broken! Can’t use this 🙁 Boo!
Final Thoughts: Overall I thought this was a really good Ipsy Bag, despite my poor broken shadow and missing bonus item. I loved the exfoliant and perfume! The value of everything came out to about $67, which is crazy for a $10 bag! You can never beat the value of an Ipsy Bag 🙂

These bags are always such a great value. I love the inclusion of the occasional "non-makeup" item like the perfume. What a nice surprise.
