Hatchery Review May 2014 – Gourmet Subscription Box

Presenting the May 2014 Hatchery Box! I’m always excited for this subscription as it is one of the newer ones to me, and the idea behind it is pretty unique! Different flavored condiments is a fun and delicious array of items to discover 🙂 Also, I got this very late…so late that I thought it was the June box. I had to do a little digging to actually figure out which month this box belonged to. (A lot of other bloggers seemed to have the same problem from previous months.)
Box: Hatchery Box is a monthly delivery of ingredients and condiments, curated to help you discover flavors you wouldn’t have otherwise.
Price: $20/month. (Free S/H)
Contents: 5-6 selected artisan ingredients.
Such gorgeous first looks 🙂

I love how everything is so neatly wrapp.
Information cards, and the very detailed brochure that comes with this box. I love that the brochure features the owners behind the brands of these products.

Heidi’s “Happy Medium” Salsa:
Not too spicy and not too mild, as explained from the brochure 🙂

King Kish Five Spice(y) Ketchup:
Not a ketchup fan…yup, I eat my fries plain!
Olivelle ‘Toasted Coconut’ White Balsalmic Vinegar & ‘Tahitian Lime’ Extra Virgin Olive Oil:
I LOVE infused olive oil, and am so happy to have gotten these. The tahitian lime would be great for some chicken or fish, and the coconut sounds delicious.

Stuart & Co. ‘Beef’ Spice Rub:
I don’t ever really ‘rub’ my meat….(omg such wrong wording at work there), but this will help me to get into a better habit of seasoning things more nicely.
Lori’s Salt Caramel Syrup:
Um, friken yum! I haven’t tried this yet but I’m sure it’s soooo good. It’s a little liquidy, but it’s suggested uses are endless.
Final Thoughts: I didn’t do a cost breakdown for these items, but I think this is a great and affordable box that gives you exposure to so many different condiments and spices. This box also features a lot of smaller businesses, so it’s nice to be able to see more of whats out there! Not to mention this subscription loves to give recipe suggestions, so you never need to be at a loss of how to use these items.
