Hatchery Tasting Box Review June 2014 – Gourmet Subscription Box

In the mood to kick up your food a notch? Here’s my June Hatchery box, and it’s full of gourmet food additions! I always get my Hatchery box pretty late which is why this is the June box, but better late than never right? 🙂

Box: Hatchery Tasting Box is a monthly delivery of ingredients and condiments, curated to help you discover flavors you wouldn’t have otherwise.
Price: $20/month. (Free S/H)
Contents: 5-6 selected artisan ingredients.

 First look inside.
I absolutely love the information booklet that Hatchery provides. The full page features on each brand and suggested uses are so helpful!
Diane’s Sweet Heat Mango Habanero Jam:
I don’t get the obsession with spicy jam; it’s horrible to me! But I know a lot of people love it, and if you have a taste for this I’m sure it’s delicious.
Empire Mayonnaise White Truffle:
I honesty don’t like mayonnaise unless it’s mixed into things well (such as stuffed mushroom filling), but the recipe suggestions recommend making some upscale egg salad with this. SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN! I can’t wait.
 Whole Spice Paella Spice Mix:
Spices are always nice because they are not limited at all; this can be incorporated into so many dishes!
Bill’s Best BBQ Original BBQ Sauce:
I don’t really know what’s up with this packaging, but not a fan. Besides that, I’m sure it’s good BBQ sauce, and that can always be used to spice up a meaty dish.
Saucy Sister Virgin Vanilla Bean Salted Caramel Sauce:
This is good stuff right here! So dang delicious; I want to buy some ice cream and slather this on 😛
Arette Tea Seed Oil:
Never heard of tea seed oil, and I don’t really have a huge inclination to use it anytime soon. Seems to be more of nutrition addition than anything, in which I would prefer items that add flavor.
Final Thoughts: There were a few items in here that I was SUPER excited about, such as the salted caramel sauce (DIVINE), and the white truffle mayonnaise. I also wouldn’t mind some help in making my cooking a bit more flavorful, so the BBQ sauce and spice mix will be put to good use! I didn’t include a price breakdown (I usually don’t with this subscription since the sizes are small), but I think the value of this box is always worth the price. (Besides the products themselves, you get recipe suggestions and the opportunity to discover many small businesses you probably wouldn’t otherwise!) Love this subscription!
