Getting back into subscription boxes of course had me signing up for Birchbox again, even though the boxes are sort of a hit or miss for me. It’s so hard to resist when it’s only $10 a month!
Box: Birchbox gives you beauty and lifestyle products each month.
Contents: 4-5 products mini to deluxe samples each month. (Sometimes a full-size is included!)
So the box above came in this box, which came in another box. Why 3 boxes?!? I felt like I was playing with one of those nesting dolls.
CLEAN Rain Eau de Parfum (Value ?):
Never been a fan of these – it hardly provides any value and I could get these samples from a magazine. This was also a wet from either the sample itself, or I suspect it may be another sample below.
Amika Nourishing Mask (Value $2.24):
My hair is all around dead with a capital D, so I’ll take any hair mask that I can get!
LOC Vibrant Matte Lipstick in ‘Playful’ (Value $10):
The shade is described as a coral pink, and I hate to say it but it looks terrible! The product is also like a crayon, and it really settles into every fine line on your lips. This is one of the worst matte lip products I’ve ever tried – and at $10?! Insane.
Coola Classic Face SPF 30 Cucumber Moisturizer Sunscreen (Value $4):
I’ve lived in Hawaii all my life, but only learned how to surf about a year ago. I’ve been using a lot of sunscreen since then and I’ve found that most sting my eyes – hopefully this won’t since it’s formulated for your face!
Beauty Protector Protect & Volume (Value $1.50):
I’ve never liked this brands packaging, but I’ve heard it’s an okay heat protector. Unfortunately I believe this product leaked and left the majority of my items sticky and wet.
Final Thoughts: The value of my March 2017 Birchbox was around $18 or so – which wouldn’t have been a bad deal if I liked more of the items this month. Some of my samples were damaged a bit, and while I do like the hair mask and the sunscreen, I’m hoping Aprils box will be a whole lot better.
